Privacy policy

Coloreo is built so that your photos never leave your phone, on both iPhone and Android. Here we explain what data is processed, who processes it and why.

1. Controller

For any privacy question related to Coloreo, write to us at hola@coloreo.app.

2. Your photos and your results

The photo of your face and the photos of your clothes are analyzed on the phone itself. They are not sent to any server, whether ours or a third party’s. Your photos, your color profile, your palette, your wardrobe and your outfits are stored only on your phone.

On Android, the analysis uses artificial intelligence components that run on the phone itself: Google’s ML Kit (to separate the garment from the background and check that the photo shows a garment), Google’s MediaPipe (to locate the face) and ONNX Runtime (to cut out the garment you point to). The images never leave the phone. Google’s components may send Google technical usage and performance metrics, such as the phone model, the Android version, the app version and how long each operation takes, but never the images or the results.

There is no user account and we don’t ask for your email or any contact details. If you type your name in the intro, it is stored only on your phone.

3. App usage statistics

To improve Coloreo, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog Inc., with servers in the European Union, on both iPhone and Android. For example: which screens are viewed and for how long, the multiple-choice answers in the intro, the resulting color profile (such as “Deep Autumn”), the steps of the subscription process, and technical data such as the phone model, the system version (iOS or Android), the language and the time zone.

These statistics are linked to a random installation identifier, not to your identity. They don’t include photos, your name, the measured colors of your face or contact details. From the IP address, PostHog works out an approximate location (country, region and city) for the statistics; the IP address is not stored and the app doesn’t use your phone’s location. We don’t use them for advertising or combine them with data from other apps or websites.

4. Crash reports

If the app closes unexpectedly, it sends PostHog a technical report with the point in the code where it failed, the phone model and the system version, so that we can fix it. It doesn’t include photos or personal data.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

On iPhone, Apple sells the Coloreo Plus subscription and charges for it through the App Store. On Android, Google sells it and charges for it through Google Play (Google Play Billing). Coloreo doesn’t receive or store your payment details; Apple and Google process purchase data under their own privacy policies.

To manage subscriptions, on both iPhone and Android, we use RevenueCat, Inc., based in the United States and with international transfer safeguards in line with the General Data Protection Regulation. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app, the purchase history and basic device data, such as the model, the system version (iOS or Android) and the language. It never receives photos or color results.

You can cancel the subscription whenever you like. On iPhone, in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. On Android, in the Google Play app › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. In both cases you can also get there from “You › Manage subscription” in the app.

6. Legal basis

  • Purchases and subscriptions: performance of the subscription contract.
  • Usage statistics, crash reports and the technical metrics of the analysis components on Android: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. Because they are anonymous and don’t include personal data, the impact on your privacy is minimal.
  • Photos and results don’t leave the device, so we don’t process them.

7. Retention

Your photos and results stay on your phone until you delete them. On Android, your Google account backup only stores the free plan counters; photos, analyses and the wardrobe are not copied. Usage statistics and crash reports are kept for a maximum of one year. RevenueCat keeps purchase information for as long as the subscription exists and for the applicable legal periods.

8. Control and deletion

From “You › Your data” you can delete, separately, the photos of your face, the wardrobe, the history or all your data. What you delete from your phone can’t be recovered through Coloreo, because we don’t have a copy.

9. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@coloreo.app. Tell us which right you want to exercise and the information needed to identify your request. Because the statistics are anonymous, we may not be able to link them to you. You can also file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).

10. Children

Coloreo is not directed at children under 14.

11. Analytics on this website

The coloreo.app website loads Google Analytics on every visit for basic measurement of how the site is used. By default, and also if you decline analytics cookies, analytics storage is denied: Google receives measurement signals without cookies or persistent identifiers on your device. These signals may include the page visited, the interaction, technical device data and the approximate source of the traffic.

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics may use cookies and identifiers for more complete measurement. We don’t send Google any photos or results from the app, and we don’t use this information for advertising. Google provides the service through Google Ireland Limited and may process data outside the European Economic Area with the applicable safeguards.

You can change or withdraw your consent whenever you like with this button, and delete stored cookies from your browser settings.

The hosting provider may log technical access data, such as the IP address and the date, for security and to keep the service running.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app or the law changes. We will let you know about significant changes through an appropriate channel, such as the app itself or this website, and will show the new update date.
